CARF Accreditation for Home and Community Services and Durable Medical Equipment
Available from CARF International
CARF International accreditation demonstrates a program’s quality, transparency, and commitment to the satisfaction of the persons served. CARF International is an independent, not-for-profit accreditor of human service providers in the areas of Aging Services, Behavioral Health, Child and Youth Services, Durable Medical Equipment, Employment and Community Services, Medical Rehabilitation, and Opioid Treatment Programs.
CARF International’s standards for Home and Community Services complement its existing accreditation standards for programs provided in a variety of settings.
•Services for persons who are in need of specialized health services and assistance due to illness, injury, impairment, disability, or a specific age or developmental need.
•Services for persons who need assistance to access and connect with family, friends, or coworkers within their homes and communities or who choose to have services that reflect their personal preferences.
•Services for persons who need or want help with activities in their homes or other community settings.
•Services for caregivers that may include support, counseling, respite, or hospice.
CARF is proud to participate with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in its efforts to ensure that Medicare beneficiaries have access to high quality DMEPOS and related services. The DMEPOS standards manual is available for free on the CARF website.
